Common questions
How are days overdue counted?
Rent is not overdue on the day it falls due, because the renter has that whole day to pay. It is overdue from the next day. Part payments reduce the amount owing but do not restart the count.
What is the 14-day threshold?
A landlord in Victoria may be able to give a notice to vacate for unpaid rent once the renter is 14 or more days overdue. This calculator shows when that point is reached. Confirm the current rules with Consumer Affairs Victoria before acting.
Does it save what I enter?
No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing is stored or sent.
Is this legal advice?
No. It is general information to help you understand where the rent stands. Check the rules with Consumer Affairs Victoria or a lawyer.
